Biddenden village is famous for its cobbled pavements, beautiful old
beamed houses, renowned tea-room and the award winning vineyard. It has a
sports club, horse riding and other leisure pursuits. The accommodation is
within a short drive and is ideally placed for guests who have relatives or
friends staying in the well known Benenden Hospital.
We
are located four miles south of Headcorn, which boasts a main line station
for trains to London, small shopping complex, local stores, pubs and
restaurants, three miles north the charming, bustling town of Tenterden,
with its antique shops, tea-rooms, Leisure Centre and swimming pool, the
Kent & East Sussex steam railway, and five miles east of Cranbrook.
This is an ideal location for gardens (Sissinghurst, Pashley Manor,
Emmetts, Yalding, Groombridge, and many more). Castles (Leeds, Hever,
Scotney, and Bodiam), and historic houses (Chartwell, Knole, Ightham Mote,
Finchcocks, Batemans, and others).
Within easy reach are various museums, wildlife centres and the south
coast, including the fishing port of Rye. There are local Vineyards, full
sized and par-three golf courses, and country walks nearby. Royal Tunbridge
Wells, Maidstone and Canterbury are within easy driving distance and London
is one hour by train. We are also within easy reach of the Channel Tunnel
and Dover ferries.
Our accommodation has been awarded the highest 5 * rating by VisitBritain
Quality in Tourism with, once again, a Gold Award accolade. Gold and Silver
Awards are given to hotels and guest accommodation that provide exceptional
quality in all areas but in particular in service and hospitality.
We regret that, due to the danger of the large deepwater pond at the
front of the property, we are unable to accommodate children. We have,
therefore, furnished the rooms to a very high standard, with the complete
comfort of adult guests in mind.
Our guests have complete freedom of movement to and from our
self-contained barn accommodation wing. There is ample off-road car parking
available.
